It has finally stopped raining. So I took the opportunity to check and clean around my bird feeders before the rain returned. The feeders have been well used. My most frequent visitors are Goldfinches, Blue, Coal and Great Tits and a couple of male and female Bullfinches. I have also had the occasional Greenfinch and Chaffinch. Image my sheer delight, as I stepped out of my shed, to see three feet away from me a Gold Crest. Standing stock still and hardly daring to breath I watched the little bird work it’s way around my Damson tree picking off bugs.
