OUTLINE REPORT

Chairman Warren Considine reviewed the year starting with conferring Life Membership to Alan and Sue Hughes whose 30 years involvement had encompassed everything from active conservation to managing newsletters and membership.

Thanks to Alastair Moore in Australia the group’s website was fully functional and reaching a world wide audience.

Work parties had focused on maintaining access through Nidd Gorge and Grange Quarry, bird boxing and haymaking along the Nidderdale Greenway to improve habitats for wildflowers, bees and butterflies.

The 2016 calendar was underway and should be ready for November. Finances were sound and he looked for a new generation of volunteers to carry the group forward.

Membership Secretary George Moore appealed urgently for help to distribute the bi-annual newsletter – especially in the Meadowcroft and Bachelor Gardens areas. Two committee vacancies remained unfilled.

The enthusiastic audience enjoyed a talk by NT volunteer Bob Mansfield who went behind the scenes at Beningborough Hall and Gardens, including the intrigues surrounding Charles I Death Warrant ….”
