It's a cold, wet, windy Sunday afternoon at the end of December and my day has just been brightened by two male and female Bull Finch visiting my bird feeders. I have a small back garden surrounded by houses, but that does not put the birds off. I have several sunflower heart feeders hanging in a small damson tree. Regular visitors are a flock of about 20 Gold Finches, House Sparrows, Blackbirds, Robins, Blue, Coal and Great Tits. So no matter how small your garden or back yard is it is worth putting a feeder out and see what comes to your garden. Be patient and eventually they will start coming, but make sure your feeder is cleaned regularly and kept topped up! It's well worth the effort.
