Rachel Green & Sandra Schiendorfer were awarded two 'Highly Commended’ awards in the categories 'wildlife volunteer of the year' and 'environment volunteer of the year’ This was for leading volunteer work days at Grange Quarry, New Park
- which included balsam clearance. Over the the past few years we have seen a great reduction in balsam and seeing a lot more of our native plants. The wildflower meadow looks absolutely stunning in the spring & summertime with orchids, etc, however the work of balsam clearance must continue each year to stop it from taking over!

More volunteers would be greatly appreciated!
