May is a wonderful time for wildlife gardening. As the weather warms, the garden fills out, and many insects are on the wing bringing extra colour and sound.

It has finally stopped raining. So I took the opportunity to check and clean around my bird feeders before the rain returned. The feeders have been well used. My most frequent visitors are Goldfinches, Blue, Coal and Great Tits and a couple of male and female Bullfinches.

Chairman Warren Considine reviewed the year starting with conferring Life Membership to Alan and Sue Hughes whose 30 years involvement had encompassed everything from active conservation to managing newsletters and membership.
