STOP PRESS! Millennium Path – 18th March 2015

Written by admin On the

A small group of volunteers will be supporting HBC Countryside Ranger Sam Walker on the next stage of reconstruction. Sam will be widening the newly-cut slot to 1.5 metres with a JCB while one of us acts as ‘banksman’ to alert passers by to avoid the immediate vicinity whilst the heavy equipment is being used. The high risk area will be signposted accordingly. The other supporting volunteers will follow the JCB as it retreats along the route; shovelling & levelling the spoil turned up by the machine.

Unless you are a volunteer, if you are visiting the site that morning we would appreciate it if you would keep your dog on its’ lead & give the noisy machine a very wide berth – please.

Once the slot is widened & the site prepared we plan for a few dry days when the pegs & timber sides will be installed in readiness for the final barrowing/shovelling/compacting operation.
